24 hrs / 7 days per week - 12 hr shifts rotating days/nights.

Primary Patient Diagnoses / Conditions
- Post vaginal, instrument or cesarean section deliveries with or without pre-existing conditions
- Normal newborns
- Antenatal for elective cesareans
- Procedures (Examples)
- Physical and post delivery obstetrical assessment
- Physical assessment of newborn
- Medical administration to adult and newborn, e.g. immunizations
- Diabetic protocol and random blood sugar testing
- Pre and post operative care
- Dressing changes
- Incision care, suture/staple removal
- Foley catheter insertion and care
- IV insertion and maintenance
- IV therapy, blood and blood product administration
- Newborn care, e.g. feeding, eye, cord, circumcision
- Assisting with breastfeeding
- Patient education (postpartal/newborn care) and support
- Fetal Heart Rate auscultation with Doppler
