Outer London NHS Trust - Midwifery Jobs in London

Our Client a London NHS Trust provides full maternity care for about 5,000 women annually who deliver at the Hospital and at home. Local Shops

Europe's longest daily street market is situated only thirty minutes from the centre of London. With four hundred and fifty stalls and three hundred shops, stretching from Hoe Street to St James's Street, plus Selborne Walk Shopping Centre offering the best high street names, Walthamstow Market offers the best bargains in town. Whether you want to buy some jewellery, designer clothing, fresh fruit and vegetables, antiques or even a camera you're sure to find it here.

Market Opening Times
Mon - Fri: 9am - 4pm
Saturday: 9am - 5pm

The Market caters for every taste from traditional East End Cockney tucker to Oriental and Caribbean delicacies in restaurants and cafes. Visitors are welcomed in traditional British Pubs - The Chequers and The Cock Tavern which serve a variety of ales and bar food.

Walthamstow Market is easy to get to. By tube you can take the Victoria Line to Walthamstow Central, or take the train from Liverpool Street to St James's Street. The market is just outside either of these stations and it stretches the whole distance between them. Walthamstow Central also has British Rail connections from Liverpool Street.

In the summer the market takes on a carnival atmosphere with street entertainers and musicians performing at weekends. Nothing can beat watching the colourful range of clowns, dancers, musicians and mime artists while listening to this East End Market hard at work. At Christmas you can enjoy the Christmas Light's Spectacular as featured on TV. The whole market goes mad as Santa roams up and down distributing gifts and there is always much more. Some years you can see the latest boy bands performing live or your favourite TV comedians while other years you can see fire breathing daredevils breaking world records.

Walthamstow Market began in 1885 and has a strong sense of history about it. If you are interested in the rich heritage of the area Vestry House Museum is just round the corner in picturesque Walthamstow Village. You can see how Walthamstow Market stood up to the Blitz during World War II, and learn about local characters from legendary highwayman Dick Turpin to 'the master of suspense' Alfred Hitchcock. Walthamstow Market has never lost its roots and represents what the East End is all about
